World Water Day 2022 – Save water with help of Solve Ninja Bot

Today is the #worldwaterday2022. Until my association with Reap Benefit which is 4 years before this day doesn’t have any such importance.

But in 2018, for the first time I did the water audit to my home and realised the water is being used beyond what I imagined. Especially, found a lot of water being used while washing hands – close to 50 liters per day for a 3 member family. I got to know this through a simple calculation of flowrate of the tap.

The flow rate was close to 6 liters per minute which is too much for washing hands. I took the effort to solve this myself with #DIY solution by fixing an aerator. I ordered from Amazon which cost about 140 INR and to my surprise it reduced the flow of the water drastically almost by 80%. It reduce to 2 liters per minute. Which to a saving of easily 30 liters per day.

Here is the video I have made that time: https://youtu.be/VW0HO6q1W1w

Chennai normally faces some scarcity of water during summers. Some of our young ninjas took the initiative to save some water by fixing Aerators in their home and neighbourhood. During this campaign, our estimate lead to a saving of 9 lacs liters of water.
